Audre Teo's Circuit Breaker (ComfortZone Breakthrough) Project

Audre Teo's Reflections on Covid 19

About a day before the Eve of Chinese New Year, I woke up to some rather alarming news. China had put WuHan under lockdown and several other major Chinese cities were on their way to lockdown as well. All due to this influenza type virus known as Covid 19.

At that time, I hadn't realised how far ranging the implications of living in such an interconnected and dynamic world is, where physical distance and space seemed inconsequential and how the term "viral" actually meant that something very small / minute can actually be very powerful... pretty much like how the tiny breeze generated by the fluttering of a butterfly can cause powerful events the other side of the planet.

Now social distancing and living out the new normal has put a new spin on things. Indeed, in just a spin and a blink of an eye, we have progressed decades... legislation rolled out in just days, people working from home and children moving into home based learning - all out of necessity of preserving the lives of as many as possible.

No longer is it important to plan the most exciting and exotic holidays, no longer climbing the proverbial corporate ladder, no longer scheming how to get the latest pre launch techie gadget. Now the project of the day is all about how to manage the boundaries between home life and work life and somehow keeping a semblance of having them separate even while the physical space has merged.

My Own little Out of Comfort Zone Project

Some of us may have let our busyness get in the way of the more life-giving things that we always want to do in life, like - making that long overdue phone call to a dear friend, taking time to really connect with our parents and siblings, clearing the clutter that had built up in our homes and lives, making sure that everything that we do is of positive benefit and is not of unintentional negative impact.

Everyday growing just a little and being just a little better, bringing just a little more light and joy to someone, will accumulate and snowball into something much bigger, at the end of just one year.

So, in the spirit of challenging myself to do something that is out of my comfort zone, I have created 2 videos that is both educational and that I hope can bring a little bit of joy and smiles to some faces. 😇

The Force for Good culture is at the heart of everything that we do. It is what first drew me in to want to partner with NuSkin.

In my search for a business partner, I was looking for people / organisations with similar values or values that reasonate with me.

Being someone who had been working in corporate for a number of years, I had become numb and lost the memory of dreams I had when I was young. I was super wary about network marketing companies... wondering what good could possibly come from the network marketing industry.

A trip to the US to do my own due diligence helped me to better understand the founders' values and the heart behind the direction forged by the organisation in every initiative it spearheads.

My initial embarrassment at being associated with a network marketing company was replaced by a sense of awe and pride as I realised how innovative and compassionate NuSkin actually is. The idea of corporate social responsibility was totally brought to another level by treating distributors, customers and even members of the underprivileged as part of its extended family... from the product philosophies of "All of the Good, None of the Bad" and "Provided by Nature, Proven by Science", to the 6S Quality Process in the manufacturing process, including the very stringent and costly process of substantiation for natural supplements, to setting up the Nourish the Children Initiative, with Lee Iacocca as Chairman Emeritus of the NTC Advisory Board.

Each of us wear various hats and take on various roles - daughter (son), sister (brother), cousin, wife (husband), mother (father), aunt (uncle), entrepreneur (employee or self-employed), friend, acquaintance... the list is virtually endless... At the end of the day, we are all interconnected to the people around us and hence, we are certain to exert either a positive or negative influence within our spheres of influence. Which influence would you rather exert?

Now, I have freedom of choice... to decide just which role I most need to play at a particular time. I do not have to obtain permission and approval from a boss to do the things that matter most to me. I do not have to apply for leave only during off-peak work periods nor only when a colleague is able to cover my work nor at peak travel times.

In June 2019,  had the privilege to accompany my mum on pilgrimage to Italy... to "go back" to Rome, to spend quality time with mum, to see the Pope and to discover more about my faith and be inspired by the lives of Saints (influential people in my faith).

In addition, being able to a break at a moment's to explore the various sights in Italy turned out to be a very meaningful time of bonding with my mum and a time of refreshment for the spirit and preparation for the second half of 2019 that lay ahead. It was especially meaningful because of the spiritual messages and confirmation that I received about my mission, on this very first pilgrimage of mine.

Little did I know that I had a test in store for me shortly upon my return from Italy. Suffice to say, these messages only further strengthened my decision and resolve to step up and be courageous, to make more of an impact on every person that I encounter while there is still time.

My journey of personal development has also led me to a retreat cum focus group with Sandy Jadeja in September 2017.

It's so awesome and liberating to be able to decide last minute to travel to Spain. This trips was not just to take in the fresh seaside air, vibrant energy and beautiful sights but also to experience the various sensory delights Sandy talks about frequently - donuts! and fresh seafood... and of course, not forgetting the true purpose for the trip - working towards positive psychological shifts that will help us in our journey ahead.

Dining leisurely at an enchanting garden restaurant with a friend and fellow traveller was one of the precious highlights of the trip as well.

It was on the suggestion of a friendly shop owner, that we gingerly made our way through narrow, winding lanes to discover the discreetly hidden gem of a restaurant, with beautifully coloured lights and endearingly cheeky waiters.

So how specifically did my journey start?

It was a combination of faith, synchronicity, courage and a desire to reclaim my dreams for a better and more significant and impactful life.

I started with a simple faith in Pharmanex g3 and TR weight management programme. My faith in the product has its foundation on what I experienced as a consumer and product user. It was Pharmanex g3 that helped me to recover from my relapse in asthma that actually helped me to appreciate the goodness of the Pharmanex products and take a second look at the credentials and competitive advantages of the company. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher. (Oprah Winfrey)

And this is precisely what I do, immersing myself in the culture and activities of my team, contributing in what way I can and learning to be more accountable for the various choices I make.

I have come a long way from being a Finance Planning and Analysis manager in corporate to becoming an Entrepreneur, a Speaker and a Health Consultant and Coach.

I am so grateful to all my mentors and teachers, all the people who have pulled and pushed and lifted me higher to more than I thought I could be. My heart is filled with gratitude to all these teachers for lighting the path ahead for me. And along this path, I continue to journey to live out my best life!
